ACF Technologies, Inc. is proud to partner with Reynolds Army Health Clinic at Fort Sill, where Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Derek Stranton serves as Chief of Pharmacy. A dedicated user of Q-Flow since its initial deployment in 2011 at other DHA sites, LTC Stranton now oversees the clinic's pharmacy operations.
The Reynolds Army Health Clinic pharmacy is a vital resource for military personnel and civilians, managing new prescriptions from military medical treatment facilities and civilian providers. With a daily workload of 300–400 patient tickets, the pharmacy underscores the importance of efficient, streamlined workflows powered by the advanced capabilities of Q-Flow.
In 2011, LTC Stranton was leading one of the busiest pharmacies in the Department of Defense, grappling with an overwhelming volume of patients daily. An effective solution to manage this demand was urgently needed.
Before implementing Q-Flow, the process was inefficient—patients stood at the counter while their tickets were called and prescriptions filled in real time. This approach created significant delays, operational bottlenecks, and a stressful environment for staff, while negatively impacting the patient experience. Q-Flow transformed this system by streamlining workflows to meet the demands of a high-traffic environment.
Until October 2024, Reynolds Army Health Clinic also faced challenges in gathering patient feedback. Patients were required to manually locate surveys on the clinic's website, which led to confusion and low participation. For example, patients wishing to provide feedback about the pharmacy had no clear path to the correct survey, limiting engagement and actionable insights for Pharmacy leadership.
Reynolds Army Health Clinic continues to utilize Q-Flow while enhancing operations with Q-Anywhere—a solution that enables patients to check in remotely and refill prescriptions using their mobile devices. By texting “Get in Line,” patients can manage refills and wait times virtually, reducing time spent inside the pharmacy and improving operational efficiency.
The web-based version of Q-Anywhere provides staff with immediate access to critical information, such as DoD ID numbers, while reducing unnecessary back-and-forth communication. Patients complete all required details via a secure web link sent through SMS, enabling a streamlined and efficient check-in process.
The partnership between ACF Technologies and pharmacy leadership, including LTC Stranton, combined with Q-Flow’s flexibility, has enabled the development of an enterprise pharmacy workflow solution now deployed across Defense Health Agency pharmacies. This collaboration supports continuous improvement driven by stakeholder feedback.
