ACF Technologies Wins Global Good COVID Crisis Champion Award

Woking-based customer experience expert, ACF Technologies, has won the Covid-19 Crisis Champion of the Year at the 2022 Global Good Awards, which recognises businesses, NGOs, charities and social enterprises that are driving social and environmental change.

This award is for organisations that have gone the extra mile in responding to the impact of the pandemic and celebrates the best in humanity’s response to the crisis. ACF Technologies won for being ‘the people behind the successful distribution of vaccines’.

ACF Technologies collaborated with the NHS to roll out the appointment scheduling systems for the national COVID-19 testing and vaccine programmes.  The UK’s vaccine deployment was among the fastest in the world, with millions of doses delivered. But that wouldn’t have been possible without the company delivering the system in record time, and at an unprecedented scale.

The judges acknowledged that IT systems are difficult to design and implement in the NHS at the best of times, but said this was “an amazingly speedy and robust response to produce a crucial 'cog' in the UK's Covid response”. A judge said:

“Well done on the unprecedented scale and impact of your digital solution for getting people to their vaccinations and vice versa!”

The runners-up for the Covid-19 Crisis Champions of the Year Award are as follows:

Silver – Monash University for their ‘Together, We are Limitless’ project

Bronze - GSK for their Fighting COVID-19 partnership with Save The Children

This is the second and final year of this Global Good Award category. All the winners were presented with their awards at the annual Global Good Awards ceremony at BMA House in London on Thursday night.
